CARSLBAD, CA - Two Sonartec fairway wood models were named the fairway woods of the year and the new Super CV Pro Driver was also distinguished as a driver of the year in GolfTest USA's Top Picks of 2002. The Sonartec SS-02 model was rated the number one fairway wood in golf by the Arizona based golf club testing company.
"Really, the way we have been selling our golf clubs is by having people hit and test our clubs," said Jon Claffey, Marketing Coordinator for Sonartec. "The buzz on our products is very big due to our PGA Tour exposure and because of the way our clubs perform. Once someone hits a Sonartec, the clubs sell themselves. We have great confidence in our product so we are always looking for companies to test our clubs and for demo day opportunities."
Other awards and distinctions given to Sonartec Golf clubs this year include GolfWeb's Best of 2002 Woods, a number three ranking for fairway woods by Rankmark.com and a rave review on the SS-03 model by GolfClubReview.com. PGA Magazine recently ranked Sonartec a top selling fairway wood at private golf facilities. High praise from golf club testing companies has helped spread the "word-of-mouth" campaign that this three-year old Carlsbad, CA company thrives on. Sonartec concurred that the Internet testing sites and the "word-of-mouth" phenomenon has fueled their sales.
"We are proud of the top rating for our fairway woods and driver," said Jim Uno, Director of Operations for the company. " Sonartec's reputation continues to grow and there's almost a cult-like following that is building in the marketplace. The golf reviews prove to us that our commitment to developing high quality products that fit a wide range of players, from the tour professionals to the average weekend golfer, is paying off."
Sonartec's unique Driving Cavity technology is a design technique used to remove mass from the sole of the club head. The Driving Cavity redistributes weight in the perimeter of the club head and provides balance in the club head for forgiveness on miss-hits. According to the company, Driving Cavity also positions a raised CG deep and within the club head, yielding a penetrating ball trajectory with no balloon effect into the wind.
Sonartec Golf had over 75 players using their clubs on the 2002 PGA Tour culminating in 5 PGA Tour wins as part of their 18 worldwide tour wins in 2002. Of the 180 plus players using Sonartec clubs on the PGA, Champions and Buy.com Tours in 2002, only three players were paid to use the clubs. Sonartec's Professional Staff includes Nick Price, Cliff Kresge and Bill Glasson.
