Lake Mead Blvd. winds out of the town to a truly remarkable development, in a region where the remarkable is merely commonplace. Lake Las Vegas is a 320-acre man made lake surrounded by 2200 acres of exclusive home-sites, stunning golf courses, and elegant hotel resorts. Oh, the casinos may think they have done everything by having pirate ships sinking in their front yard or reconstructing the Pyramid as their casino center but this is all just chump change dreaming in comparison to what has been created here at this $4 billion (yes, that is with a B) project.

Think value golf is dead in Vegas? Well, for the most part, you're right. A quick drive southward to the burgeoning suburb of Henderson is required to find a course even remotely in tune with the needs of the player on a budget. Looking for the classic Las Vegas signature hole? Look no further than the Legacy Golf Club, actually located in Sin City's sister town of Henderson.

The upscale course, built in 1989 and designed by architect Arthur Hills, features a set of four tees each shaped like a symbols from a suit of cards -- a spade, club, diamond and heart -- on its 193-yard, par-3 10th hole.

Highway 95 South will take you directly into Henderson from Las Vegas. McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas serves the Henderson area.
