The Czechoslovak Golf Association was founded in 1931 and the time since then, the number of golf courses has grown exponentially. When the Eurpean PGA Tour came to the country in 1994 in the form of the Czech Open (held in Marianske Lazne) there were roughly 2,000 golfers in the country. These days there are closer to 20,000 and the number keeps growing.
