Mary of the Scots guard and Cadet October 8, 2011, 3:11 pm

If remember good Mary of the Scots lived for a while in France and later married there and not sure when after her husband died or before she came in Scotland with the new game and the cadet helper and friend and guard!?
The interfere of the greedy Hanry VIII with the arranged marriage as teh girl was more than one year and the killing of her father is seemingly like El Cid in Spain and the pass the crown to the girls too young to understand the marriage games the godfather papality played with! See the Petronilla of Aragon seemingly royal story but her dad lived longer but no crown..

Hello: I had the pleasure of playing St Andrews and being the guest of Malcolm for lunch at the R&A about 5yrs ago. Malcolm and I corresponded several times since, and I have regretfully lost his contact information. Would it be possible for you to either provide me an email address for Malcolm, or pass on this email to him for me.
Thanks & Regards,
Michael

Oldest Club in the World July 13, 2009, 3:30 am

by Paul Whittaker
The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers is NOT the oldest club in the world. This accolade belongs to the Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh which was instituted in 1735 (or earlier.
Indeed there are several clubs older than The Honourable Company. The Reader may notice that the Honourable Company itself does not claim to be the oldest club as it has acknowledged the The Royal Rurgess has a stronger claim to this title.
Please correct this statement on your website.
Best regards
Paul

Campbell is distorting the truth of golf history.
Looking on his bookshelves, he will find Anglo-Saxon authors , not Europeans, claiming the continental origin of golf.
The hole is not a Scottish invention. Putting into holes was done on the continent hundreds of years before the Scots did. Painings and Book of Hours gallore to prove that
