I was so glad that Tiger blistered the course with a near 59 yesterday. After all the pre-tournament criticism of the course conditions, people need to understand that appearance and playability are not always equal. They also need to understand that golf turf and especially putting surfaces are made up of living plant tissue. Cut it down to 12.0 plus green speeds and drop in a heat wave and humid weather and you would wilt too. The criticism of the tour and the superintendent were grossly unwarranted.
Although it only opened in 2009, Castle Stuart Golf Links has already established a fine reputation as an outstanding course. Way up in the Highlands of Scotlan [...]
