Garcia will become a great player when he quit acting like a high school punk that never grew up. He is obnoxious, conceited, arrogant and classless. The least he could do after trowing away a game is to answer whatever questions he is ask by the press in a non-sascastic way. I agree that "Those sporadic, irregular shouts are as much reminders of all Garcia's lost over the years as they are of all he has to gain." IT IS NOT YOUR TIME, SERGIO!!

Garcia was excited about the Wi putt because it gave him a great read on his own putt -- not the reason you write about. It wasn't the unselfish moment you propose it was.

You don't get all smiley faced and practically start rubbing Charlie Wi's head because you're excited about a putt read. After you know you've pretty much already blown the major. Remember, Padraig Harrington won by two shots, not one. Eighteen was the least dramatic of the last three holes.
That was definitely a great bit of sportsmanship by Sergio.
Forget the fact that I was right there off the green. Wi saw it the exact same way. I'll take Charlie Wi's opinion on what it was over anyone else's.
Sorry if it pains you to give Sergio the slightest bit of credit. But he deserved it for that moment. Of course, he did his best to blow that goodwill later.

Great sport Garcia where Mr. Wi was concerned, I'll give you that. But what of his reaction to Harrington? A repeat of Carnoustie, he couldn't look Harrington in the eye and never applauded (then or sonce) what the guy has achieved. I used to like this guy but now I agree with George... he's a self absorbed twat!
