Can I get an Amen here. I'm so Tigered out. Yes, he's a great golfer, but the media has actually hurt golf by jamming him down our throat so much, that most folks are tired of hearing about him. Do a Tigered Out poll, but that would be just more, wouldn't it.

FUTURES TOUR

I am very concerned that the FUTURES TOUR has to perform in an almost publicity free environment, virtual obscurity, why? Nobody seems to want to recongize them.
Being a golfer myself, I am a conscientious fan of the "GOLF CHANNEL", but I have yet to once see or hear any report relating to the FUTURES TOUR. Again, WHY?

Gee, it couldn't be the fact that market research shows nobody gives a crap about watching it, could it!?

"Other" good golf stories

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I couldn't figure out if we the reading fan are missing these other golf stories because 'we' don't report them, or 'you' guys don't report them!
I imagine many of us golf fans would happily read other very interesting stories of which there are bound to many if they were offered.
Write'em and we will come!

Interesting subjects other than Tiger

I'd like to see an in depth article on Tommy Gainey. When he was on Big Break and they talked about the winner going to the Nationwide tour, I thought it was just another publicity stunt for golf reality TV. I was stunned to see him on the PGA tour. He didn't make the cut in Hawaii but surely there is "country boy" story lurking with his name on it.
Thanks,
Mike

Hope you don't spam this. I enjoyed reading your post and thought you'd be happy to know in Ohio we like golf about as much as our favorite runner-up football team. Take a look at www.ohiosgolf.com/top_ohio_golfers.asp
We track over 50 pros of all levels as they make their way to the top.

It's international as well.
America seems to think that golf begins and ends within it's borders. Wrong!
To their credit the Golf Channel gives very good coverage to the European tour and other golf around the world.

Look Beyond Tiger

I love your comments. I have stopped "watching" golf if Tiger is playing because I'm sick of the Tiger hype. When Tiger is playing, it seems there are no other golfers on the golf course. I love the stories and love to watch all the golfers. My hope you have started a trend to bring them into the limelight with all forms of the media.

Amen to the Woods saturation coverage.
He is the only golfer on tour who is never referred to by his last name.
My remote control has worn out numerous batteries switching channels as soon as I hear his name mentioned.
