While we are talking about intangibles that can't be measured, I believe it a combination of Tiger's incredible skills, drive, and intelligence. He intimidates some, out thinks most of the rest and then wears down the remaining few. Some have hung in there through all of that, but not repeatedly.

I think Thomas Bjorn said it best. "It's not that the players don't want to challenge Tiger Woods, it's just that they can't." He is better than them, plain and simple.

While Tiger certainly has Ernie's number, Ernie has difficulty closing anything. When you see him trying to close the deal at the British Open and the playoff, he was a mess and his inner demons surface and he talks frankly about them. I like Ernie, but as he's coming down the stretch trying to win, you can see the look on his face is similar to having eaten bad fish and he's trying not to lose. Couple that with Tiger on his back and it was inevitable. He has to work on winning and not trying not to lose. And when you're playing against the best player EVER, that can be a daunting task.

Tiger does not. Think about it.

OH YES---WOODS.
WILL EVERYONE PLEASE GET OVER IT.
HE LIVES ON LUCK. OK--OK--SO I AM CRAZY.
HAVE YOUR WAY.
GO AND REVIEW THE TAPES. THE THINGS HE GETS AWAY WITH HE COULD NOT REPEAT IN A MONTH OF SUNDYS.
ME?? I ONLY WATCH THE EVENTS HE DOES NOT PLAY IN.

It would be tough for you to know if Woods is lucky or not if you never watch him play.
His "luck" has allowed him to win a greater percentage of the tournaments he enters than any anyone else
Sorry you're missing watching the greatest golfer to ever play the game. But you obviously don't know golfers from grasshoppers.

Your right mr. DBLBOGIES. Tiger could never repeat the things he gets away with in a "Month of SUNDYS", whatever a
"SUNDY" is..... On the other hand, I have a feeling watching him that his creative shotmaking seems to be successful every time he plays including "SUNDAYS" .. I am concerned however, that your refusal to watch the events he plays in means you don't get to see any of the Major Championships, along with most of the greatest fields of the year.. Do you suffer from "penis envy" as well. Chuck Collet, Pitt Meadows, British Columbia

Tim: I'm pretty sure TW doesn't fear other golfers. I think the fear you see is his absolute abhorrence of playing at anything less than his best. The top athletes in all sports have it. It just stands out more in an individual sport. His best is just bloody spectacular and great to watch!

| Tiger's dominance |

Phil? Ernie? Sergio? or even that big mouth Rory? Tiger is physically and metally superior to all of them. He has all the shots and the only person that Tiger worries about is Tiger. His mental game is amazing. He knows that he's going to beat you, and you know he's going to beat you and he knows that you know that he's going to beat you. When he's on his game, which is most of the time, it doesn't even matter what everyone else is doing.

| Tiger vs. the PGA Tour |

The only players buying into the Tiger Lore are the players on the PGA Tour. The International Players arn't intimidated by Tiger. Angel Cabrera and Nick O'Hern don't have a problem getting the best of Tiger nor does the European Team during the Rider cup.
