With the tournament now set up by a member of the USGA, it is no wonder that the Masters back nine has become boring. There is no 30 to be had on the back nine. It is a good thing Jack made his run in 1986, otherwise we might have seen a +1 instead of a -6 from him. At least with the US Open we get to see different courses. The Green Jackets need to wise up. With the muzzle over the announcers, there is no Gary McCord or Johnny Miller to disect the play and the set up of the golf course.

The masters was boring only because the broadcast was boring. I would have loooooved to hear what Johnny Miller had to say during thi syears turn. rather than be subjected to the pain of Jim Nantz. He, like many media-types (eg B. Musberger, Howard Cosell, etc) are so caught up in their own hype, that they run out of adjectives. CBS and the media were banking on a Tiger slam, and/or Tiger to compete. He only backed doored himself into 2nd because Immelman dbed the 16th, otherwise, the margin would have been 5. Players today whine about how hard the course is-bottom line is, you have to make shots. And I am tired of hearing the words "Tiger proof". there are plenty of players (at least 10 that I can count) that hit the ball waaayy farther than Tiger. But.. can they put? Can they manage a golf course? And if you noted, bad scores resulted from bad shots. Flesch missed about 3 putts inside 5 feet coming in. These are professionals people! And most important point is, the whether. I don't care if the course was 400 yds shorter- the wind wreaked havoc and would still have, and scores would have been high anyway!

It's easy to complain but why not offer a suggestion to improve the Masters.

I do agree that Trevor's story was a good one for the Masters. First SA since 1978 Gary Player and the phone call and his cancer and he's adorable (i'm a girl golfer) and he was awesome to watch - first person to take the lead on day one and keep it to the finals perhaps also?
My problem was the coverage pre Sunday....too many commercials, gossip about Venus Williams...who cares if she's dating a golfer? and the incessant commentator shots rather than golf shots...their highlights were 5 or 6 plays of the day! something went wrong in camera coverage this year...I watch to SEE golf, not hear gossip about golfers...I can watch E TV or some such.

It's amazing. Tiger runs away with a tournament by 10-15 strokes and you guys proclaim it as "One for the Ages" or some other drivel. But let some guy with a world of talent and less of a PR staff play well and win and it's boring. Frankly the only thing that bores me are sportswriters without a clue as to how the game is played. Get a real job!

Mr. Tucker and Mr. Wolfrum should both go write for company that thrives on slime, they have no place writing about the fine gentlemans game of golf until they learn respect, if that's possible.

No wonder that the Master is so popular.Most of America went through 4 months of Winter hell. So the sight of this beautiful Golf course is like dreaming for a golfer.Play the Master in the middle of June with his suspect competition (40 players out of 72 have a chance to win the toournament)and most of us would be playing our own golf course instead of watching. The Players championship should replace the Master as a Major.
Tiger would not want that because he was able to win it only once.

You're boring! Yes I am South African and exceptionally proud of it - especially after Trevor's win on Sunday. This was the greatest Master's moment since Gary Player won it! There were a zillion golfing fans outside the USA watching specifically beacuse a non-Amercian was winning and we could watch someone else other than Tiger! The Master's is a great major and will always be - the tradition and history is enough to make it a sort after victory. I will be watching at 03h00 next year on Master's Sunday irrespective of who is winning.
And just to set the record straight, there is only one person who can win the Grand Slam this year.

The Green Jackets wanted to "Tiger Proof" the course (like nearly every other tourney committee) and have only expanded the gap between Tiger and the field. Tiger played so so tee to green and putted below average for 2nd place. The Green Jackets should make the greens more receptive and move different tees up every day. Give more players a chance to get aggresive and make the crowd roar. Let the rough grow and tighten up some landing areas so they have to earn it, not just bomb it. The Field wasn't weak. Who else should have been there? Did you miss Colin Montgomery? Do you want the top 128 in the WGC Match Play too? The amateurs are a huge part of this Invitational. Hats off to them for inviting the # of amateurs they do. It adds to the syrup of the broadcast. Too bad CBS doesn't give Feherity more of those stories. The course won, especially on Sunday. Despite the audio it's still a great tournament. It was wonderful to see Immelman win. Just as in Nicklaus' era of dominance, I'm rooting for the underdog or even "the field" and cheering for the course is fun too.
Just make par 76, not 80, for Gary Player. 280 was the winning score. Make #13 a par 4 if you want the scores closer to par.

Let's not put down the last two champions. It can be a successful tournamenet if Tiger does not win. Look at the wonderful gentleman Zach Johnson was as an ambassador for the Masters this past year. The last two Masters made for great stories. Evidently you like the TV was following only Tiger around the course until he was finished then they focused on the real Champion!!!!!!!!Boring only on Tiger TV.
