$10Million Dollar Purses - Dubai and Fedex. November 20, 2007, 6:57 pm

Too much money going around to very few people!!! The proverbial, "The rich get richer..."
These type of contests only highlight the pinnacle of the sport but there are players in the U.S. and European Tours struggling to keep the positions. In the end, what benefit do we get as spectators aside from being awed by the money!!!
The Tour is not like Formula1 where the innovations find their way in the cars we drive, the lubricants, and fuels. What is played in the Tour stays in the tour. In the meantime, we mortals still 3 putt, hit 230 yard drives even if we use the same equipment these pros use.

Bagdad Green Zone Classic November 20, 2007, 1:08 pm

I worked in the Green Zone and there were a few "hard core" golfers that would occasionally hit balls over the wall into the Tigris River. I have also played on the course where the Qatar Master is played and given my choice, Qatar is where I would play.

Sounds like it's time for me to kick some serious writer butt. Try saying that stuff to my face, punk; that is, if you can ever get a press pass to a PGA event again. Commie-Pinko-Jerk!

I can't believe that Tim Fincham wrote this - it would not be sensible and cetainly not politic for Tim F. to broadcast these views. He might think it but I cannot believe he would be foolish enough to put them out in the public arena.

DUBAI November 20, 2007, 8:09 am

We are really inundated with the corporate dominance of every aspect of our life. Race to Dubai sounds like the promo for a NASCAR event. Why not, since the golfers look like stockcars with their sponsor's decals all over their body. It really is over-the-top.

Several years ago Greg Norman and others tried to convince the US tour to join up with the European Tour and Asian tour to make a World Tour. But like always we believed we were better off on our own and right now we are. But for how long???
