Paula is so refreshing and I always tape the tournaments when she is competing. Even if she is not currently number one, she has been number one with me since I first saw her playing as an amateur. She is such a delight to watch. I think she can be quite intense, but it's pretty funny when she spanks or bites her putter when it under performs. She's a heck of a golfer, and, she's pretty in pink, blue, red, green, etc...

Nice article on Paula Creamer. I think in her way she is very competitive and I really enjoy watching her play. She is a great good will ambassador for not only the LPGA, but for women's golf period.

Loved the article on Paula, she and Natalie Gulbis are a joy to watch and will bring more fans to the game than some present No: 1's. Their attitude and great regard for their fans will surely keep more golfers entertained and enthusiastic to support golf.

Paula Creamer. Intense? November 13, 2007, 4:27 pm

I think what you are mistaking for a lack of intensity on the part of Paula Creamer is really a level of maturity not usually found in someone her age. What is she 20?
When Michelle Wie was getting all the hype several years ago Paula was going about her business learnng how to handle herself in the pressure and the spotlight of being one of the youngest winners in LPGA history without ever once saying, as she listened to the Wie hype, "What about me?" Insted she let her game speak for her and here she is. The intensity is there, look at her face when her game lets her down. But the good manners and ability to let it go as she moves on to the next hole or round of golf as well as an apparent appreciation for the fans and good fortune that have led her to be earning a nice living in a sport most of us have to pay dearly to enjoy serve to show that not all athletes have to be spoiled prima donnas.
I don't think anyone wins at that level without an enourmous amount or drive. It's nice when this drive can be fused with all the positive attributes she posesses.

I agree with the points in your article on Paula Creamer. My daugher who is not a golf fan totally identifies with her because she is all female and she competes the right way. That is the kind of role model a Dad wants for his daughter. The LPGA tour could use more of that and less of some of the other players they are promoting.

I disagree about Creamer. Just because she doesn't foam at the mouth, doesn't mean she's not intense or competitive. Larry Nelson and Nick Price won a ton of majors, right? Paula wouldn't be where she is if she weren't serious about winning.
Secondly, I predict she'll win a bunch of majors over time simply because her putting is superior. Always has been. Her driving & iron play are excellent, but on the green she is significantly better than Michelle or Morgan or most of the new, young crowd.

lpga babes November 13, 2007, 11:58 am

I disagree about Pressel. She is no babe. 17 yrs old Hamhock arms, a granny fanny and an alligator mouth.
Mostly the girls on the LPGA are mature beyond their years and now quite a few are babes. Paula looked luscious in that clinging black outfit. Michelle Wie is stunning. Too bad about her. She needs to fire that Leadbetter fraud fast. She was better when her father was her coach. These babes are a good thing for golf. I have been a fan for 50 years and now i prefer the LPGA and the Champions Tours over the PGA dominated by that over hyped egomaniac. Womens sports have improved where men's have backslid some with the criminal element present in the NFL NBA and big-time college sports. Womens golf and tennis are pristine in comparison and the tennis is loaded with babes too. Anna Kournikova started it and Maria Sharapova is a high-fashion model playing world class tennis winning the US Open is a cutoff cocktail dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Do sports get any better than this.
In 1953 if you had predicted that in 50 years South Korean women would dominate the LPGA and that Russian women would dominate womens tennis you would have been considered a kook. This happened as a direct result of the foreign policy of the USA. I would like to make a crazy prediction that by 2060 an Iraqi woman will win the US Open golf and an Afgani woman will win the US Open tennis. If our foreign policy(ie freedom democracy and capitalism) is successful, and that is a big IF, i think the above will happen.

It is so refreshing to see Paula Creamer play golf and know that her attitude towardd golf and life is in perfect balance like her swing. With ALL the self serving egocentric reality shows and professional football and basketball on TV the LPGA is the only place to see real people play a sport with a balanced perspective on life. We can all learn something from this.
