Only a reporter could whine after watching a Tiger's performance.

TIGER'S QUEST August 15, 2007, 1:58 pm

by William Tweedle
Enjoy this wonderful ride with Tiger. It is something that rarely happens in sports during your lifetime. From the time he turned pro until he reaches his quest is truly exciting and great to behold. Yes, I'm a Tiger fan. Go Tiger.

Lay off the guy for pete's sake. He is just like any of us other sleps that love the game. Yeah I'd be crapping myself if I shot under 70, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Look Tiger is just doing his job, and he isn't going to lose focus until the job is done, winning. He is not done working until Sunday evening, just like we're not done with our work week until Friday evening. I give him a lot of credit for not loosing sight of his goals and that doesn't make him rude or stuck up. He just isn't going to take credit for something he has not accomplished yet. His happy hour starts when he is walking off the 18th green on Sunday, try not to forget that.

Tiger - good and bad for golf August 15, 2007, 12:25 pm

by Lowell Kurylyk1
I agree with people that Tiger is a great golfer BUT there is more to golf than low scores, trophys, large pay cheques, fame, etc. There is the human side which ALL people need to address, even famous atheletes. This is sadly missing in Tiger's life. When people get to the point in life where their attitude is regulated by whether they win and only win, they need to step back and look in the mirror. Not at how much they have achieved physically, financally, etc. but to ask themselves or a friend to bring them back down to earth with their attitude. Tiger certainly needs help with that aspect of his life.
If he has any true friends, wife and caddy included, they would extol upon him some lessons in life, not how to use the 14 clubs in his golf bag better.
It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice, because people will always remember other people for their attitude, but not always for how great their golf game is.

We all love Tiger-BUT?
Tiger and the rest of the PGA
Pro's need to lighten up and help
grow the game. They are not. The game of golf has been flat for years. It is supposed to be fun.
I know when Tiger puts his mind to something he gets it done. Period.
If he concentrated on being more fan friendly during rounds it would work for
him, as well. It is a choice he makes.
If golf fans are turned off, and by the
lower TV ratings it seems many are, all
the Pro's would be at a Club giving lessons. No fans? No PGA, No Nationwide,
No Champions tours etc.
Let Tiger and the Pro's lead by example and show the kids that hard work and
concentration doesn't give them the right to be gruf, rude and ill tempered. Golf is a game. Enjoy your position and previlege.

Media people! How many of you could hold a real job? Tigers demeanor is Tigers demeanor, accept it! After all
he is WORKING! But as far as Jack Nicklaus record (Tiger is an excellent player and great person) yet given the "softing" of the rules of golf, equipment changes, course playing conditions, there will never be a fair
comparison. Jacks record is his, and can not be broken.

As I see it, Tiger wants to beat Jack's record of 18 as he has always idolized Jack while growing up. Tiger sees beating him, makes him even a better golfer than his idol. Somewhere there is another child idolizing Tiger and hoping that someday he can be as good and even better. What a role model Tiger is for all youngsters today. They don't have many, do they! I thank God I live in a time when there is a Tiger to marvel at. Melba Yish

Your comments are really "stupid". Put yourself in 100 plus degrees trying to win a tournament and see just how upbeat you are!!! Tiger is a great person, great athlete. How about giving him the credit he deserves. More people should be as nice as he has been throughout his career being HOUNDED by the media at every turn.
What a negative, dumb article to publish. It didn't make points with my family.

The Press August 15, 2007, 9:32 am

Don't you think Tiger could get tired of the stupid questions the press ask's? Asking the guy if the towel he has around his neck is symbolic of a kings robe and shouldn't it be red is as stupid as you can get!

I am appauled at your comments (Dave West)regarding Tiger's attitude this past weekend. Just give it up, I am so sick and tired of hearing your negative comments about this amazing young man. How dare you say the only record he is interested in breaking is Jack Nicklaus' How do you know this? On what authority do you speak?
Of course, he was elated after his win and why shouldn't he be? He has a job to do (4 days) and when it is over, he will then comment on his success or not. I have watched this man time and time again give of himself to others and obviously you must need to find fault with him as it is just so hard to find. Keep printing negative columns and I am sure you will find that NO ONE will be interested. I for one, am not.
