Mr. White:
Didn't one of your esteemed colleagues once brand Sergio "Senor Saturday?"

Your assessment is not quite fair. Garcia is very good; he just needs to learn to play well on Sundays and win. His talent and ability to "be in the hunt" is unassailable. His driving--in terms of combination of length and accuracy--is second to no one, and he was #1 on tour last year in greens-in-regulation. His top-10 finishes record is extraordinary. Moreover, he plays particularly well on more difficult courses, those that separate the truly good players from the also-rans.
It is frustating not to see Garcia win more often, and to watch his putter let him down on Sundays. Here's hoping that he learns something from the player who bounced him in Tucson at the WGC Accenture Match Play this year. Charles Howell III decided last year that, in order to be one of the best players in the world, he was going to have to become one of the best putters in the world. Sergio needs to do the same.

No mystery here; the problem is between his ears. Bet he doesn't have a psyche coach; too much Spanish pride to get one? Same problem Seve had/has.

The problem is he cannot putt, especially under pressure
