Yip, I'm with Lee. I'm obsessed. I took up golfing in January 2003 when I moved to the States. I knew nothing, not how to grip, or swing or NOTHING.
Well I watch The Golf Channel, read books, do drills and after 2 years and a bit of playing golf for 7 and a half months per year (live in Ohio) I average about 87 shots per round and shot 80 four times. I just wish I could break 80.
This year I've played on a Nicklaus course in Cincinatti when the greens were iced over and half of each fairway still had snow on them but I PLAYED GOLF.
Yip, I'm a nut but I manage to average in the 80's, every once in a while drive it 300+ and made 2 birdies in each of my last 4 rounds, with not one single lesson other than what I've taught myself. Must say I'm proud of shat I've accomplished thus far. I bet a lesson or three would help me get to the seventies.
All the best to Lee, a fellow golf junkie.
