The Bob Hope chrysler Classic is not one of favourite tournaments ,mostly because of all the clutter. But there is still lots to watch and write about, even with the Tiger absent. The problem is the media. They have gotten very complacent or mabe even lazy over the last few years. But that a reflection on the media and the media only.I can watch a tournament in the gallery for 4 days and enjoy it.That's without the help of a handicapped media.

Tiger(Eldrick)less weeks February 2, 2005, 7:27 am

I don’t know where you guys get off claiming Tiger is the end-all for the tour? The tour could use more color (figure of speech) back in the game like Trevino and Fuzzy. There is a lot more character on the European Tour. It’s a lot more fun watching Harrington kibitz with Clarke than have to endure all the US PGA clones. When was the last time you saw a good laugh on the US tour? A smile would even do. Clarke shanks a 4 iron at the PGA and has a good laugh about it. He still gets up and down. Lighten up!!! We need more “ENTERTAINMENT”. The money has taken away that part of the show.

The golf tour needs a "Tiger". Without him in a tournament, why watch?
Vijay has about as much personality as a snail and Phil, my lefty, doesn't make it interesting enough to sit for four hours to watch. Give us more guys like Couples, Daly and Funk to bring a little more life into the game.

The Bob Hope needs promotion.... February 2, 2005, 7:25 am

...the Bob Hope Classic suffers from a lack of focus......the complexity without the "Pebble" name or "Hope" isn't making it....while the courses are great....they are not "sensational" I found it to be more practice than competition......the tournament needs some good marketing/pr support to help bring the players and the viewers into the event......the lack of drama is not just the players' (there or missing)fault...alone.....In my opinion
