do you really get paid to bad-mouth Michelle wie so often? All these articles seem to say is that she is nothing but hype. You speak as if everyone agrees with you...helllo...who are you? i'm a 24yr old woman golfer, and am excited to think that women'sgolf is growing in popularity. What ever happened to decorum? Isn't that what seperates golf from other sports? Wouldn't you like to see women's golf have more than a handful of players. As an LPGA fan, I'm am axiously awaiting some great tournaments between these young women in the future, but I'll wait for them to be good players and then compete. They really don't need bad writers like you profiting off your ignorance, and dragging names through the mud.

I hope you were just trying to stir up some hype for your writings otherwise what you wrote is pure garbage...Michelle is on her own agenda and the path that she follows is her's and her's alone....she doesn't have to prove anything for heaven's sakes...and you keep forgetting that she's still a little kid...and hey...how about those driving lengths from Leadbetter's trainings? I think averaging 287 yards is quite remarkable...and she still wants another 20! Obviously she will reach this pinnacle as she matures and gains strength in a new regime that Mr Gagne is helping her through....by the way old boy...how many yards can you hit the ball? Betcha you can't come close to Michelle! Jeeeesh...you're one goofy dude!

Michelle Wie IS ducking all of the other junior amateurs. She KNOWS that if she participated, she would be sent home by the likes of Morgan Pressel, Mina Harigae, InBee Park, Jane Park, Angela Park, Hsaing Lu, Jenny Suh, and the list goes on. Why is it no one mentions the COLLAPSE she had - not in the Open or the PGA events - but in the 2004 US Women's Amateur? Up two, three to go in match play - LOST ALL THREE, sent home to Hawaii. David Leadbetter, watching in horror, as his prize pupil left in the round of 32. She has not learned how to win. Period.

Babs, get a clue. Wie is an Amateur that didn't play in the highest rated US Amateur tournament. Tiger Woods always kept competing in Ameteurs against his PEERS. Why does Wie snub her peers and play in Pro tournaments and Men's events?.....future M O N E Y.
Wie is an overrated, overhyped teenager banking on OVEREXPOSED media hype to cash in on her future payday. She lost all respect in my book.

Wie is good for all of golf. I believe she has taken the wrong road, but it will all come out in the end. The next ten years or so will be much different than the last ten. Let us all just wait and see what will evoloves, and enjoy.

Everyone can cite all the stats and facts as to who is a better player, Wie or Pressel. Truth is...Morgan Pressel is revealing her age with her comments about Michele Wie's game and goals. Even thought Michele is two years Morgan's junior, she has demonstrated a much more adult attitude by ignoring the attacks on her by both Morgan and the media. I think that Baldwin's article is very juvenile and he should get back to covering the sport with facts and leaving the high-school antics where they belong.

What Pressel is showing is her competitive spirit. The think that pushes her to win at every level. She knows she's as good if not better than Wie, but she like everyone else continues to hear the Wie hype. The only times they've gone toe to toe Pressel's came out on top. And you might want to check their birth certificates again. Pressel's closer to one year older than two. Just give all the good player their due. Pressel's earned any hype she gets. What's Wie done? Just look at the situations she's been in with any type of pressure on her. She's fell on her face every time. It's all about the process of learning to win and she hasn't went through that process yet, because she and her parents have too much to loose. They know that she wouldn't dominate in the junior or amateur ranks and they couldn't keep the hype going if she didn't. They're not stupid, but it's going to hurt her in the long run. It's really a shame because she could be a lot better at this point than she is.

What tournament of any significance
has Wie won? Has she ever defeated Pressel going head to head?

She won the USGA Women's Public Links. She did that before she turned 15. Pressel just won her US Amateur. Pressel is very impressive and may be a future star on the LPGA. She is 17 years and 3 months. Wie has two more chances to do better she is that old. Hopefully next year she won't have a Monday 7 AM tee time after the British Open Sunday.
