I bit the bullet a couple of months ago and spent a fortune on a Scotty Red X2 short putter only to discover the yip! Tried one of my mates 41" White Hot Belly putters for a laugh, liked it. Got my handicap down to scratch from 2 in the last month. I say putt with anything you feel comfortable with. All the snipers that say its against the traditions of golf are not playing hickory shafted irons and persimmon woods are they?

Couldn't agree more. If the belly putter is so unfair why did Harrngton win the Open. At least Garcia missed the putt on 18 because of a missed read and not the yips.
