You must be on drugs or don't know much about the level that womens am is played. wie is extremely talented, but so are many other juniors that don't get near the hype that she does. The only times that she's gone head to head with some of the other talented young players she's lost to them. How about the pub links? The kid that beat her was barely older than her. She's not all over the media. What about Pressel? If you think that Wie is not dogding these players then you're going some good stuff. She's got way too much to loose and she and her parents know that she would. Not to say she wouldn't be competitive. She would be more than competitive, but she would not dominate. And if she thought she would then she would be in these events. Get your head out of the sand dude!

It is about time that someone from the Media finally understand the Michell Wie mission. Make Money. All of the TV and Print Media have bought the Wie/Nike/Ledbetter sales pitch. "She is just 15". This phoney idea about hwer playing week and week with the PGA Tour Players is a bunch of phooy. And every one knows it. Only the "Media" wants the story. Any thing to destroy the PGA Tour.

I agree that she needs to prove herself on an amateur level, but how in the world was she going to make in time and not have severe Jet Lag. She is gonna be great, she would be around the Top 25 on the money list just in the majors she played. I would do the same thing in her case if I was that good. I like the way she composes herself compared to Pressel and maybe thats what the people that are giving her the exemptions are thinking.

While it is disappointing that Michelle is not playing in the upcoming Women's Amateur, I hope everyone keeps in mind "she's only 15". What were you critics doing at 15? Not playing in professional golf tournaments I wager. She has indeed hopped across the globe in the past few months playing at a high level (both her game and her competition) and still learning to win. So she becomes an easy target as she hones her game and mental toughness and. How mentally tough were any of the critics out there at 15? The toughest thing you had to worry about was which pimple cream to use!!
We don't know how good her game will be or how tough nor how much she'll win, but give her a break unitl we find out those things, along with her.

Great piece of writing and right on the money, so to speak. Since she is still an amateur, the situation cries out for the simple solution that would have solved her "scheduling problems"...dropping this last tourney which was for professionals anyhow. However, hiding behind fatigue instead of competing was her solution, or dad's or the agents or all of the above. It's a cop out of the first degree and one which will and should reduce her image and money making potential in kind. In this day of pampered and overpaid sports figures, the average Joe has had enough and should not put up with it.

So good to see somebody puncture the 'Only 15' BS Wie's supporters constantly chant. A better boxing analogy might be Tyrell Biggs who generated headlines as an amateur but went nowhere as a pro, but even that fails as at least he climbed to the top of the amateur ranks before being exposed. I see Wie milking (bilking?)the public interest in her until the age of 18 at least after which I predict a mediocre and forgetable pro career. Someday she'll be queen of the "Where Is She Now" trivia question.

You are so right! She has not done anything but hit a few long shoot and cry I'm only 15. It's about time she face the facts that she is no more than a side show who is afraid of her peers that has already has shown that she can't win when playing with them.
Please give Morgan P. her do and put them two on TV and she can prove us all wrong.

Ha ha ha...now how about Michelle crushing Morgan in the final round? I think Ms Pressel was intimidated by the fact that she was always 30 yards or more behind Ms Wie off the tee...
