Golfweek Magazine's annual list of America's Best (published March 8, 2008) includes three of the Waccamaw Golf Trail's courses among the top 10 golf courses in South Carolina: Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (No. 3), True Blue Plantation (No. 7), and TPC of Myrtle Beach (No. 8).
Executive Chef Ernest Bledsoe was named "Grand Champion" of the Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Culinary Federation's 7th Annual Hot Food Competition. The competition of Southeastern chefs was held during the Annual Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Supply Show of the Southeast Jan. 29-31.
Chef Bledsoe competed against 70 chefs from as far away as Connecticut and Michigan. He received a gold medal for his crab-crusted grouper and seared scallops with a shiitake mushroom, brussel leaf and leek ragout, roasted sweet potatoes and crab cream. At the end of the competition judges named him "Grand Champion" of the event. Come sample the great cuisine at Pawleys Plantation.
Waccmaw Golf Trail guests can get their game ready for the season by participating in the "Launch Your Game" events to be held on the Waccamaw Golf Trail. Each Thursday from March 27 through May 1, golfers can visit the Litchfield Country Club practice facility and test out the latest in golf club technology from some of the industry's most popular companies.
Golfers can also receive custom club fittings, order new clubs and receive playing tips from Litchfield Country Club teaching professionals. The weekly clinics will be held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. each Thursday with refreshments served. All events are free and open to the public.

The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic will be played April 28-May 2 at Fallen Oak, the exclusive course for guests of the Beau Rivage. "This is a significant step in becoming a tier one vacation destination," says Anthony Topazi, chairman of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Foundation, Inc. "I hope this is the first of many events we can have that attract people to visit the Gulf Coast for its first-class golf, fishing and gaming."
