Tommy Armour 845 VCG

i am a new golfer going from avery cheap set of clubs and came across an excellent deal on a set of these irons and only hitting them a few times my game has improved alot already i think they are an excellent set of clubs.

I purchased these irons a couple of weeks ago and had a chance to use them a few times. I can easily say these irons have helped me drop stokes off my game. Well worth what I paid.

The clubs played well. However, the nut in the slide on two of the clubs broke within the first 3 months. Don't waste your money.

I used to be a very high handicapper... I'm talkin' double pars galore... With this set I've improved to shooting low 100's. I haven't taken any lessons or changed anything... just upgraded my set. The only complaint was due to my own design. the nut on my 7 is slightly stripped due to excessive use.

I like these clubs 0 easy to hit, forgiving, and always solid hits, but the variable weight cavity insert is porrly designed. I swing and hit hard, and the cavity insert is made of plastic - it has plastic wedges that hold it in place with a small amount of epoxy to keep it in the steel forging. The majority of my clubs now have cracked cavities, and the plastic wedges are worn down. After solid contact hits, you have to pop the cavity insert back in. On my 6 iron, I've lost the insert completely as it fell out and cracked in half. cheap set of clubs (paid $299 on clearance) but there is an obvious reason why. Buy a better built club set.

Clubs are nice, very forgiving. I've have about 20 rounds on my set and no weights fell or insert came out. The clubs are a little heavy.
