Paid £13 with GolfNow, excellent value for money. Great course in very good condition considering the recent weather. Greens were in great condition. Very welcoming staff who offered us to go around and play a few more holes if we wanted.
Clubhouse being redeveloped but will look great when finished overlooking the par3 18th. Will definitely play again. Highly recommended.
Hilly?
Good course in good condition for the amount of rain it had, but even rain can't hold on severe slopes.
Not really a Seniors' friendly course unless you get a buggy.
Last hole pretty dangerous.
Need to be an experienced mountain climber really
Average course and terribly slow play
Played here on the way up to the Wirral. Course has some undulations and a few interesting holes especially the 1st tee shot over a ravine and the 18th with an elevated tee to a Par 3 and requires some accuracy both off the tee and approach especially the front nine. Pro said they had done some work on the greens before I teed off. Course still wet from heavy rain the day before. Some blind shots with no guide markers on line especially 4th hole where second shot was over a hill to a green set tight between OOB and woodland. Played as a single golfer and followed 2 old boys in a buggy from the 8th hole onwards. Waited on every shot. Often both reloaded off the tee and left clubs by the green on two separate occasions so drove back to collect. Tried everything to get allowance to play through but totally ignored. At £30 for a twilight round didn’t feel value for money and the ignorance of two members ruined the round
Really enjoyed this course, great condition, great holes
Hot and fast, great course
Played on a warm June Sunday (was thankful for the buggy we hired) when the ball was running for days. Some great looking holes with some cracking views off the tee. Greens were running true and the course was in great nick. Will be returning.
Brilliant
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Course in great condition considering recent poor weather. Some really picturesque holes. Can’t wait to play there again. Alex the Club Pro 👌
Great Course
First time here and loved the course. The layout was fantastic, some really pictureque holes and although not that long it really is a challenging round.
Would love to play it again soon and see it in the summer. Can imagine when dryer its a stunning course
Great course
Lovely course with lots of great holes, it’s was still quite boggy but it is January. Played here in the summer and it’s a great course to play
In good condition considering the rain
Only 17 holes available , the 18th is closed whilst drainage is improved. Course is quite heavy, 4 temporary greens, however given weather recently it stood quite, green aren’t bad for this time of year
Good value round of golf
Had read a few things and seen some course vlogs so thought we'd give it a go. It had rained a lot in the week leading up to the round so we had a lot of mud balls and it made it play quite long but the course had held up well considering. Quite a hilly course and some quirky holes giving blind shots etc but it was interesting to play. Playing a second time would help with some of the lines off tees and for second shots The 18th is a great little closing hole. Was good value for money and the facilities were good.
Testing course
Played the course for the 1st time ...me and my son have only been playing 3 months, so if you are a new player or beginner its tough , but a nice tough ,first of all the course is fantastic set up and layout .some very challenging holes indeed . I loved the par 3s especially the 18th .its a very very hilly course , i dont think you will go many courses and hit a 9 iron and watch it roll down a hill to as far as a driver can be hit 😁.greens were in great condition. Fairways great and t boxes were good as you would expect . Definitely be back next summer when my golf hopefully may live up to the course .well done to all ground staff for the quality of al i can say is a rollacoaster course 😀.
Hire a buggy
Excellent day out playing Hawarden Golf Course but I will certainly hire a buggy next time as it’s not the easiest of walks. Course is really good with some picturesque holes that are really enjoyable to play. We will be back.
