First time at North Wales
Liked the layout, quality of the greens and friendliness of those I met.
Played through a two ball 'new at golf' which was fantastic to see but their etiquette wasn't the best although that wasn't their fault - someone should have helped them. Looked half decent players as well.
Some fairways had many bare patches but all divots had been filled with sand which was great to see. Some tees needed some help too. Lovely views from 9 to 11 and 13 to 17.
All in all a really nice course, in decent condition and one I'd recommend.
Great day
Great course, will definitely be back to play when fully open, 3 holes closed due to weather but really enjoyed it.
Golf Away Day
Really nice course, greens and tees were excellent, fairways a bit patchy in parts. 8th hole to 15th hole were right by the coast which was stunning to play. Overall really good challenging course definitely would recommend!
Hurricane Llandudno
Wow, the most fun I’ve had on a golf course for ages, blasted by 35mph wind, but amazing views and worth it for a couple of the best par3’s ever and the stunning views. Play this course, be patient and enjoy it - from hole 6 it’s a crackerjack.
Excellent experience
First time playing this course and found the whole experience first class, the pro helped me out with some tips before setting off which were a great help.
The course was in great condition with the greens looking really well and fairways were well looked after.
I was playing behind a 2 & 3 balls and the pace of play wasn't an issue at all
Good course.
Played it on my own and really enjoyed it. No wind at all so shot under my handixap. Will go back in October and hopefully the wind will be up
Fairways and green side areas need work
Played NWGC before and knew what to expect, amazing views, some great holes and lovely members. The previous volume of rain had forced three holes to close, but we’re allowed to play another small loop which was great of them to allow. The fairways, bunkers and run off areas are in real desperate need of work however. Good shots get unfairly punished by landing in crabgrass all over the fairway or settling down in bare patches less than a foot off the green, making some chips near impossible to get up and down from. Couldn’t help but think that some time on the details (re-edging bunkers, re-seeding etc) would make this place even better. Over all, I love this links, some really fun golf is there to be had and I’ll likely be back.
Excellent Links golf
This is a very beautiful location alongside and over looking the sea with views to the mountains and the Isle of Angelsey beyond.
The course is well maintained and has interesting and some fairly challenging holes.
Very good clubhouse facilities
Enjoyed it overall
4 1/2 hours in a 3 ball was a drag but allowed us to see the course for what it was. Lovely views over the sea. The wind picked up at points and made the course challenging. Currently scarifying the fairways but the greens were lovely. Very little practice facilities less the putting only green. Really enjoyed the closing holes with two par 3’s and a driveable par 4 18th.
Nice course but takes too long to get around
Lovely course with beautiful views unfortunately ruined by slow pace of play not letting people through.
Great views, great greens, fairways need a lot of work.
Played for the first time and loved it. Greens were amazing and the layout was great with some fantastic holes. Fair rough, but beautifully links. Only disappointment was the fairways needed a lot of work. Ball could be in the middle of the fairway and could be sat in crab grass or a really bare lie, which made shot shaping/approaches more difficult than it needed to be. But would definitely recommend to anyone.
Just awesome!
We have played NWGC several times and have loved ever round. Today was no exception; the greens were immaculate, fairways well tended and bunkers playable. Of course the sunshine helped, the views out to sea were great and the 9th & 10th were a real pressure playing along side the beach.
The pro shop was well stocked as ever and the staff were very helpful and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable round of golf!
Great course
First time. Fairways but tight and long carry on some holes but overall thoroughly enjoyed it. Greens in fantastic shape. Good test and would be really challenging in high winds. Recommended a visit anytime
Good knock for the price
Arrival: Car park at the back of the clubhouse is ok, but if someone hits a bad approach shot onto the 18th green, then there is a chance that your car could get hit. Staff were extremely helpful and polite as expected.
Practice Facilities: This was probably the only thing that I was disappointed with. There is a large putting green but was not in great condition and that's it. No chipping area, no nets to hit irons/woods or no driving range. Your first proper golf shot is on the 1st tee!
Course: For the money it is definitely worth having a go in my opinion. With the recent hot weather, the fairways were a little patchy which was expected. Back nine is definitely better than the front nine and the 16th and 17th holes are two really nice par 3's to finish your round on.
Overall: Me and my mates enjoyed this round of golf and we are glad we have played this course. It isn't as good as Conwy in my opinion, but for £25, you can't argue it. Only major disappointment on the day, was seeing the condition of the practice putting green and the fact that you can't have a proper warm up before the round.
Superb links golf
Last week I played the 2010 at Celtic Manor which was great, but North Wales Golf Club, with its accompanying scenery was just something else. Absolutely stunning and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
The weather conditions were too good really but the course whilst not particularly long, still presented a proper challenge with its mix of seaside holes and holes through the dunes.
Members and staff were very friendly making it a brilliant day all round and although it’s a long long way from home, I will definitely be back one day!
Links at its best
Fantastic links defo worth playing great views and great test of golf
