Located about 30 miles from Cardiff, Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club is one of the top championship links golf courses in Wales. Located on the other side of Royal Porthcawl Golf Club on the south coast, the front side is more inland than links, but the back nine offers a collection of spectacular holes within dunes. The golf course opened in 1946 and was designed by Mackenzie Ross, who also built Turnberry's Ailsa course among others in the U.K. Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club has hosted such events as the Wales Amateur Championship and Men's Home Internationals.
