New Owners
The course is in great shape. New owners are really getting things done and everything continues to get better and better. They are having a few winter tournaments for the die hards.
The course is fun and can be a little challenging
I live approximately 40 minutes from Black Rock Creek and if there were more of these good deals I would play it a lot more. It is a nice course. Thanks.
Course was in great condition and the greens were very good.
On a weekend that was suppose to be filled with rain we woke up to find it was another day for golfing. Spent the night near by in Yakima and decided that BRC was perfect for the day.
Enjoyed the round and the pace of play was right on the money.
Great cource with some challenging
It was a hot deal price. The course was great and putting greens are well maintained. Only problem we had was there was a lot of mosquitoes since we played late afternoon, otherwise it was great experience playing in a different course.
Perfect Day of February Golf at Black Rock
I play Black Rock on the order of 10 times a year and decided to give them a try on February 1st. These was a frost delay but hay that is to be expected up here in the Nor Country. Came in and the Pro (Scott) welcomed us by name and got us set to go in no time. The course was still fairly green and most winter debris was picked up making the fairways and rough areas very playable. Greens were in very good winter condition and not bumpy due to being frozen 1/2 inch below surface. The course is a challenge due to the many trees if you stray off the fairways, but if you are in the fairways it is a pretty straight forward course. Water (or should I say ice) does come in to play on several of the holes but mostly on #3, #6 and #9. All-in-all, Black Rock is a very good out of the way course that is never crowded and the pace of play is always under 4-hrs.
Great Shape For This Late in the Season
The course was in good shape and did provide a challenge with many of the holes. I would play it again and recommend it to others.
Looks Like a Tame Countryclub Course - Not!
Blackrock is always in great shape and it is deceivingly difficult. There is trouble on almost every hole (e.g., #2 - 200-yr P3 that is an hour glass shape, #3 - long carry of water to small landing area, #6 is just a #$%&^*, #9 long P3 over water, #11 very long P4, ....etc). The greens are medium speed and for the most part flat. Lots and lots of tree problems to deal with, and hazard areas that are thick and snarly. It is a fun course but frustrating to-boot!
