Good place and friendly staff

Fun and challenging course. Friendly staff. Could use a Marshall at times. Some locals who play a lot do not keep up with the pace of play and won’t let people pass. Over all the best course on the Olympic peninsula.

Enjoyable 9 (18) hole course

This is a flat, open 9 hole course They have separate tee boxes for the back 9, with a separate 18th hole. Because of the lack of landmarks the course can be a bit difficult to follow. The very pleasant and helpful staff gave me an early twilight rate and an explanation (using a helpful aerial photo) of the course. Several water hazards that keep you on your toes. The greens are very slow.

There is a reasonable looking bar attached to the pro shop but I didn’t stop in.

For a high handicap golfer this was a fun course. I would play it again.

Not a links and too many holes

This course is not a links, nor does it nearly approximate a links. The only justification thy might have for calling it a links is the lack of trees. However, they are busy growing trees so that is going away. They do not have the right grass, the right soil, nor do they have the dunelike landscape required of a links.

This course has 10 holes. it should only have 9. Squeezing 10 holes into this small parcel of land means that they created in course out of bounds, which is considered very bad practice, on a couple of doglegs. With wider separation the larger area of rough between holes would remove the need to make the next fairway over out of bounds.

I can see why many reviewers call this a fun place to play. For the not so highly skilled player the level playing surface makes for a good game. However, this course has forced carries over water, which would be interesting the first few times, but would become a nuisance after repeated failures to carry the water hazard. Also, there is a sand bunker running completely across the extra hole they use as their 18th hole when you go around twice. This used to be a common feature on early golf courses, and earned the name "top-shot' bunker. in the first half of the 20th century the PGA hired A. W. Tillinghast to go around the country removing such bunkers.

Hidden links style gem

Had a great time here. I live only a few miles away, on Whidbey, but the climate change is significant. SkyRidge was in great shape, level tee boxes, firm fairways, appropriate depth rough, very firm greens. The course is very well marked, so routing isn't an issue. There was even drinking water, which is not usual for this time of year in the Pacific NW (but should be), and a freshly serviced HoneyBucket. There was water in all the ball cleaners I used. There were just so many little things that some courses ignore/neglect, that the staff here get right. The owner took time to explain the layout to me before I went out, he and the rest of the staff in the bar/kitchen were very welcoming, as were other regular patrons. Can't say enough good things about SkyRidge. If I lived closer, I'd play here a lot, most likely become a member.

What No Trees?

Winter golf in PNW and not raining here in Sequim. This is a 10 hole course (separate finishing hole) with two distinct sets of tee boxes (each having 4 tee areas) which lends to an 18 hole feel. It's a links course, flat with no trees which was a refreshing change from many other courses. Fairways and greens are generous. Greens are relatively flat. There are a number of subtle dog legs with some holes guarded by water. We were welcomed and thanked by the course superintend ant. My new-to-golf wife got around fine. I enjoyed letting the driver loose. Admittedly, this is winter golf so cannot fairly comment on course condition. We'll be back to play again in the spring/summer when the course is in full bloom. Fun afternoon.

My new favorite course

My son and I played sky ridge for the first time and both agree that while it is fairly open with few real hazards it does require a player to be solid around the greens. The people in the pro shop where super nice and we really enjoyed the course! I am looking to go back as soon as I am able. It is the perfect course to relax and "find" your swing while allowing for some errant shots. Fairways were firm and weather most of the time will be great! If I lived in sequim, I would be playing as often as by bones would allow. Great fun at a nice course.

A great practice course!

Been trying to get sone friends into golf, this is the perfect course for introducing them to the game after some work at the driving range. It's also a great place for tuning up your game or breaking in new clubs. The staff are very friendly.

Great value

A ten hole course. Two different tee boxes for each hole make the course more interesting the second time around. Holes also change par, 4 to 3, 5 to 4 etc. Water on three holes and tall grass outside the fairways make this links style course challenging and fun.

Beautiful Course w/ Olympic Mountain Views

SkyRidge is a nine-hole course that has been converted into an eighteen-hole layout by using different tees on the back nine. The day I played I had no one in front of me and no one pushing me from behind. I completed 18 holes of play in 3 hours and 20 minutes walking. The layout is flat with very few traps, water hazards, or OB. There are a number of long Par 4 holes that play into the wind. The fairways and greens are wonderful. There is a great driving range that allows you to hit from grass. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who lives or visits the Sequim, WA area.

it is a new course and very open. but hard to navigate

The staff was one person that was informal and did not know how to operate using golf now.com. He would not give me a reciet and told me that golfnow.com would supply me with the receipt and that's never been my experience. All and all a back woods operation

Great food (breakfast and lunch) in the brand new clubhouse!

A very nice Links course with some challenging pin placements and "sneaky" water obstacles. The way the course is laid out makes it easy to walk even for us seniors with some limited mobility. On a clear and sunny day the course has some of the most gorgeous views available of the Olympic mountains! Had a wonderful time and will play this course again
