Great first birthday round

Rock Island was the first 18 of my birthday 36...course is pretty flat on the front 9. Back 7 are in a beautiful apple orchard across the road...greens were great. Golf was fun. I will be back some day

Been a while

It's been over 20yrs since I golfed "the rock pile", the 9 hole course I knew as a kid. This isn't that course anymore. I blew through town on business and spontaneously stopped for a round mid-afternoon. The front nine is pretty flat (despite your opening tee shot) and pretty long, just like I remembered. The new back nine on the other side of the road was pretty cool. Some very challenging shots, water in play with tempting distances in mind, uphill holes bordered by Apple orchards, and some narrow tee shots in contrast to the front. Greens we're in great shape and appears regular players respect the grounds. A deal for the price. A little noisy next to the highway but who doesn't like a gallery?
