Beautiful day at Fairwood

Beautiful weather for a late afternoon tee time at Fairwood. The course is in good condition and they are spacing groups out due to the current pandemic and local restrictions. I feel bad not filling in my divots on the fairways but still no sand, no ball washers, or similar amenities. Staff in the pro shop was very pleasant to talk to.

Beautiful day for a round of Winter golf

First time on the course in a couple of months. We only saw four other groups the whole time that we were on the course and never had to wait to take a shot. The fairways had been plugged but didn’t appear to have been sanded, and the course was a little wet, but that is to be expected this time of the year especially when it had rained the night/morning before we got on the course. The greens were in great shape for the time of the year. They have covered the driving range and upgraded it, and added concrete steps to walk up to the 16th tee box. Great updates.

A Beautiful Course That is a Great Value for All Ages

I joined Fairwood in 2007. I lived near the course for 17 years and never knew how to enter the club. Therefore I thought I didn’t know any members. After I joined there were a half-dozen friends there. I came for the golf when I tired of lining up at the public course 1st tee box only to endure 5 hour+ rounds, and having to call frequently to get a tee time. The tee sheet at Fairwood is wide-open afternoons and evenings, and easy to get on each morning. I may have come for the golf but enjoy the bonus of great food, excellent facilities, family fun, and social activities.

The holes on the course are diverse and avoid the parallel tracks found in many courses as it winds through the Fairwood Greens community. The par threes are demanding, the par fives are a challenge to reach in two, and the par fours reward a good drive with a chance at a birdie putt. The greens are unmatched in the Northwest and protect par. If you like to line up a putt on a fast green, you will love playing these greens. All rounds are four hours or less.

Best Greens in Seattle!

Joined this private club last winter and have loved every minute of playing here. I joined because they offered a very reasonable membership deal where you pay a small rate per round. This is perfect for me because some months I don't get much chance to play.
The course is fairly tight with trees on both sides on most holes. Each hole is unique with a fair amount of elevation changes especially on the back. The real star of this course is the greens. They are fast, smooth and very steep in places. Lots of slope! Feels like you're playing a mini Masters Tournament with putts that break 6 feet. After a year I'm still challenged by this course due to the great greens. Top marks for food in the clubhouse and the incredibly friendly staff and other members. It's easy to get on to play too! Only 15 minutes from the airport and 25 from downtown Seattle.
