Fun and quirky 9 holes off the beatin path

Was greater with a warm smile from the young man in the pro shop. The course was busy and the pace of play suffer because of it. Fun course that would be great for beginners. No bunkers and some water. The views of the lake made it worth every penny. Fun course that I would recommend everyone stop in and try it out.

Birdies are possible - Pars are common

Love playing Overlook!
There are a few par 4s that are reachable in one shot (#4, 8, 9) for many golfers. The lone par 5 5th hole is fun and I reached the green in two shots - just missed the eagle putt.
Hole #3 is beautiful - elevated tee box - par is very likely if you hit the inviting green. Hole #8 is challenging because you can easily reach the green in one shot - but your ball will probably roll off the right edge due to the slant toward the creek/stream. When I need a quick golf fix at a great price (and very friendly staff), I call up my pals (E & M) and we hit Overlook Golf Course!

Overlook - the place to take beginners north of Seattle

For dirt cheap golf that's fun for the family or beginners, Overlook is the place. There are some interesting holes. It's not in great shape but it's not a goat track, either. It feels like 'muni' golf. The par-3s are solid. The par-5 would fit in well at any championship course. They're long and challenging. Some of the par-4s play short, but when you're with a beginner, that's a blessing, not an indictment of the course. Every community needs an Overlook to fuel an introduction to the game. Unfortunately, it's courses like these that are closing, lost to dwindling support.
