Hartwood opened for business in October of 1996 and immediately became one of Clark county’s most popular golf courses. It was built by the Hart family with the goal of bridging the gap between regulation and par 3 golf by offering grass tees and a variety of iron shots and two par-4 holes for the driver. Hartwood is set among tall fir and oak trees and surrounded by beautiful views of Mt Hood and Mt St. Helens. Water comes into play on 3 of the holes. The charming clubhouse has a panoramic view of the course. A variety of merchandise is offered along with hot dogs, drinks and snacks.
Hartwood takes about 1 ½ hours to play. The traps, ponds and raised greens offer a challenge to the experienced golfer and although first time golfers are discouraged, the shorter than regulation length and forgiving fairways offer a perfect place to hone the beginning golf game.
