Golfing Utah
What an amazing and fun course. It was challenging but the fairways were wide. Great time!
Fantastic course
Palisade GC is a hidden gem that would be overly busy if it were closer to a large municipality; it was busier than I had expected for a week day round since it is quite remote, but the course itself is such a great course that the pace of play was hardly noticed; the course was in excellent condition, and the staff is very helpful and friendly; I recommend this course to all golfers; it is a favorite course!
Favorite annual course
Palisade GC is a gem that is off the beaten track which is unfortunate; if it were closer to Salt Lake City, it would be swamped with players; it is a favorite that I try to play a few times each year: the course was in great shape, and the staff was very friendly; the course is not very long, but the greens help protect scores; strategic play is required in various holes due to the great layout; there is a par-3 that is across a canyon to a small green in the edge of the canyon and with a rock wall behind; accuracy is necessary; this is a course all golfers will enjoy playing, but I would not recommend it for beginners.
Fun, Challenging Course & Beautiful Scenery - Average Conditions
This was my first time playing Palisade Golf Course. I had heard great things about the course.
It is located south of Manti and is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but that makes it nice because it does not get beaten up by so much play.
I loved the layout and the course provides lots of challenges for every golfer. There is lots of elevation changes as the course is located in a valley with the golf holes going back and forth (up and down the canyon). The nearby mountains and the views of the lake and valleys are spectacular. The conditions of the course were just average, but the course layout is challenging and very fun. I recommend to make the drive and play Palisade Golf Course.
Hidden gem in rural area
Palisade GC is a destination course that I expect to play every year despite it being over two hours away and in a rural location; this remoteness makes it a hidden gem that many people will not take the time to visit which makes it a prime destination; the layout is excellent and provides challenges for every golfer, and the views an serene environment makes it a wonderful experience; additionally, the course cafe has the most excellent cheese burger and homemade curly French fries that caps off an Day on the course; locals may need not understand the jewel they have.
Fast Greens
Made the two-hour drive from SLC because I'd heard this course was really scenic, and it was absolutely worth the drive. The course is lay out runs through a canyon and you play up and back down on both nines. Huge elevation changes on most holes, and the fairways are lines with trees.
The most challenging thing about this course is greens. The front nine greens were fast and break away from the mountain. The back nine, however, were so quick and have so much slope that I'd say they were nearly impossible. You had better be below the hole on ten, 11, and 14 (a 95 yard par three straight uphill to a green you can't see).
Be sure to bring your camera to the fourth hole, as it's a gorgeous and difficult down-hill par 3 with a forced canyon carry all the way. The view from the 16 tee box is the best on course, with Palisades lake in distance.
Loved my day at Palisades, and definitely worth the drive.
