The Barn Golf Club
About
The Barn gets its name from a big white barn that has been converted to the lounge. In fact the course used to be named The White Barn. The course is fairly flat as it was built on farmland. The holes make good use of many mature trees and several ponds. But, the most penal hazard consists of the cow pastures outside of the boundary fences.
One very unique feature of this course is that there are zero sand bunkers. To compensate for the missing greenside obstacle the grass is usually maintained as long rough in front of and around the greens. For a good short game day practice plenty of short chips from long rough before heading out.
The Barn is a great place for groups composed of golfers of different ability levels. It's short and forgiving enough for the high handicapper but risk/rewarding enough for better golfers.
There are a surprising number of memorable holes. The second hole is a short dog leg around a pond. A lay up is the safe play but it's rumored that big hitters can drive the green.
The third hole was recently nominated as one of the top par 5s in the area. A long drive will allow a risky shot at the green in two. It must be straight enough to avoid the fence to the left, high enough to clear a group of tall trees and long enough to carry a pond guarding the green. Number 9 is a very reachable par 5. But be careful off the tee as a drive of over 220 yards will end up in the water.
Green fees are less than $20. The Pro Shop staff is very helpful and there is a snack bar and a full service lounge. Be sure to stop in the lounge to watch golf on the big screen after your round.

The Barn is Good
The Barn Course was open but challenging with the winds coming off the mountain and the houses next to about half the holes. While the course isn’t overly challenging the greens were fast as lightening and watch out for those trees in the middle of the fairway:)! Overall a good course to play.
Fun Course to Play
A hidden gem in North Ogden. A very fun course to play with a nice layout that offer is good Friday.
Love this course.
Greens were great. Fast and smooth. Beautiful course condutions all around.
Great Value.
Super fast greens
It probably was the weather but the greens were really fast, it's frustrating to putt from one side of the green to the other.
OFF SEASON REVIEW - influenced conditions
Biggest challenge was the course was full of singles and pairs so very slow and disruptive round.
Hard to provide a fair review during the off season. Conditions were just OK even considering the timing. Staff was not amicable to outsiders.
I am sure there are better courses to play in the area for travelers.
Play this course if you haven't yet.
Great condition and challenging holes for all kinds of golfers.
Great Golf Course
I am currently a 14 handicap and I play golf all across the Wasatch front in Utah. I recommend playing The Barn - the course is in great shape this year. They have worked really hard on It and it shows. The greens look great and are rolling smooth. Fairways great shape and the rough is not to thick. The best time is early mornings during the week and you can play at your own pace. Nothing better than hanging out with the Ducks and Geese first thing in the morning. The price is always right
Great!
I have been playing at the barn for over 15 years. The staff is welcoming and the course is always in beautiful shape. Go buy yourself a new wedge, get a free 9 holes and enjoy a north Ogden classic.
beautiful day
The course was in wonderful condition. The greens were some of the best I've played this year.
too strict for my taste
don't be early, don't be late, they only let you play if you are right on your golf now tee time, even if there is no one playing. All other courses will work with you in the area, but not the Barn.
What a suprise!
This course is perfect for an intermediate golfer like me. Play's quickly and is walkable. Beautiful city course near the Ben Lomond Mountain.I'll play this again for sure.
Nice Round of Golf
Overall this was a pretty good course. There were almost no cart paths, which I really like, because you didn't have to 90 degree rule the course very much. The only part of the course that I disliked was a fairway that had a great big tree right in the middle of the fairway. Also the water features/ hazards weren't placed in such a way that they were utilized. Only other complaint would be the gas powered carts, very noisy.... Overall a fun course though. Fun to play, and it felt like a nice long course, which would favor the hard hitter. Especially with a good deal.
Excellent value for a very good course
The Barn golf course is an excellent value for a very good condition course and a course that is a lot of fun to play. This course has three tee boxes (blue, white, red) and each plays at a medium length from their respective distance; the blue (back tees) play at 6200 yards. Excellent fairways and nice firm greens will give you plenty of scoring opportunities if you keep your ball in the fairway. This course does play along and through rows of houses, but with the exception of #nine tee box, it is not too intrusive. There is a nice variety of hole designs with the front nine fairly open fairways and the back nine being much tighter fairways requiring more precise drives.
No Challenge
Not Impressed. Course was just OK. I expected more from GolfNow
Fun little track
Today was awesome, it started out a little cold and windy so it scared a few people away. I was able to play extremely fast, fellow players had great awareness and let me play through as I was a single. The course offers challenges for all skill levels, not overly long, but has enough trouble to make you pay attention. Not a bomb and gouge course, there are enough mature trees, and water to make you shape shots. Greens rolled very well and true, maybe a little slow with all the water we have received lately. A course that you could go low on one day and have the wheels fall of the next. If you haven't visited the barn you are missing out!!
Very well kept target course
Course winds around homes with beautiful mountains in the background. The challenge is staying in your fairway and landing the small and mid-sized greens. Bring your "A" game and you will love this course!
The Barn
Very open course, but other than that it is extremely fun. The greens and fairways were in very good condition. 18 holes and a cart for $12 is a steal for this course.
great course
Some hard holes but great good course. I will for sure play again and again.
Fun coarse
Greens were in good shape, tree in the middle of the fairway was interesting
