Starcke Park Golf Course
About
Situated on the north bank of the Guadalupe River, Starcke Park Golf Course (formerly known as Max Starcke Park Golf Course) stretches across a scenic landscape of century-old pecan trees. The golf course is easy to walk being of mostly flat terrain. Trees line the fairways, making accurate tee shots top priority in scoring well. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course and water hazards coming into play on a few holes for added challenge. Starcke Park Golf Course’s signature hole is the par-4 finishing hole, which requires a tee shot down a narrow fairway bordered by pecan trees on the right and a pond on the left. Considered one of the best municipal golf courses in Texas, Max Starcke Park G.C. also offers a practice and putting green and driving range.

New grass growth challenging
Greens are a combo of dry and nubby grass shoots..
New uncut grass growrh on back 9 rough, difficult to hit out of..Fairways have patchy growth.
Looks like the course was in reasonably good condition the little I saw of it.
Huge rainstorm hit on second hole. Aaron confirmed there was no charge in a phone call today. Since I did not complete the 9 holes, it is not practical to rate the course properly. However, the pro shop staff was very helpful both before play and during the rainstorm. This was my second time to the course with the last time being in June 2023. Due to an injury, I had not played since then. I am looking forward to playing on March 24.
Overseeded?
Enjoyed the course. I have not played many park style courses so it was different. The grass in the fairways was really thick as if it were over seeded possibly, could almost loose a ball in the fairway. Staff was great and amenities were good. Will play again.
Poor greens
I have played this course for around 10 years. The greens and fairways are usually in good condition. Not today.
Green grass is starting!
The ground is starting to get softer the grass is greening on the fairways. Way better than a couple of weeks ago.
Great value
Kind of a typical public course. Course conditions and greens were a little rough but considering the time of year it was acceptable. Club house was bare essentials. The ninth hole looked out on an unappealing back yard. Course was challenging but not overly so. Fun inexpensive round of golf.
Amazing value for a course in solid condition overall
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were all solid. Everything is super green. The sand traps were actually surprisingly pristine as well. Amazing value for what you’re getting
