Cheap but pretty good
The course is in fairly good shape. Some of the fairways are a little rough and definitely watch out for the ant hills cause there are lots of them. If you get it for $25 or less, it’s a good deal. I wouldn’t pay more than that though.
Last minute round
Fairways are not in good shape. The greens are really slow. Ok for a quick round if you have points to use and limited options.
Golf outing with son
The course was in fair shape overall. The greens were very good as were the sand traps. the fairways were in need of attention such as mowing and overall grass in areas not near the trees. The pace of play was fine. Overall I would play there again if I lived near there.
Red Wolf Resort Golf
Greens were very good but the tee boxes were in need of grass. The fairways had some bare spots and some needed a mowing. The carts were clean and in good shape. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was just OK and did satisfy.
Would go out there again. They offer military discount for vets asa well.
Terrible Owner
This golf course used to be well kept and reasonably priced. But the new owner has put absolutely no money into the course and let it go. There is little or no grounds crew because everyone left. They even used to offer specials for military, first responders, etc. However, the owner jacked those prices up too. The course has a nice layout but condition is subpar. Greens are soft , sandy and full of weeds. For what they are charging go play Gus Worthman or somewhere else.. Not worth the price.
Best bang for your buck!
This course is honestly the best around for the money, I live in champions forest area and don’t mind driving almost a hour to play here. It’s worth the money, I have zero complaints about this place and will continue to play. You just can’t beat the price and quality of this place.
Great Value for the Money
Got a Hot Deal for this course. Never been and thought we’d try it out. . Turned out to be a great value for the money!
If you’re thinking about playing here, don’t. Not bad but not good
This golf course definitely has potential. I say this because it has the same nice layout as the golf course in Crosby, TX. Stonebridge at Newport which is 20 minutes south of this one. This golf course was like the musty version of that golf course in Crosby. The staff is very friendly and sweet, there is even a lovable dog at the course who’s collar reads “Not lost, I love golf.” The course itself is not well maintained. The greens are black with baby crabgrass growing everywhere. The water is so green. The bridges are so uneven you gotta be careful going over them. I wouldn’t recommend it to play, not even just for practice. Especially for the price. I think it should be more like $18 per person. The range seems ok so I think they could have a decent rate for buckets. It’s not ugly. It’s ok. Just those things are not appealing, the greens, the bridges, the water and if you care, the tee boxes.
Lots of Potential
Course condition is rough. Driving range/practice area is fantastic,... and rarely (if ever) crowded.
Layout is great with holes winding their way through Pine forest.
Looks like there is plenty of effort being put into maintaining conditions but there are far too few staff to get it done.
Suggestion; Hire additional qualified course maintenance personnel and have them focus efforts on greens and tee boxes.
