Hidden Gem
Although the course is located in a older neighborhood it hidden gem. Very nice lay out, greens are surprisingly nice and the price is right.
Good value
This course is a good overall value. The greens are always in decent shape and it's real laid back which makes it good for beginners.
Sweet Deal
Have played here a bit recently. For the price it's a great course to go visit. If you like Memorial or Herman Park you will enjoy this course. Hills and water hazards.
Rude management
The manager "Medina". terribly rude. if it wasn't for 10$ to play would never return. other staff aren't very attentive but certainly not rude
Very Average Course
This was an no frills average course. Although, the greens were not in good shape and lessened the overall experience.
Staff very unfriendly
The manager of the golf course treat the people very rude he all time is complaining about GolfNow, so he do not let you check in before 10 minutes of you tee time, so if you want to practice you have to pay for the balls go and practice then come back 10 minutes before you tee time and get ready, we were three some and my friend took his wife, the manager make him pay for his wife just for ride with him when anyway we need two carts.
No waiting to tee up
Got there at 1.10 teed up at 1.20. Never had to wait to tee up at any hole. Good place for last minute tee time, walk up or beginners.
Blah
We had a foursome with a 8am tee time. When we got to the starter, there were 4 or 5 groups in front of us. The starter didn't seem to care when your tee time was, everyone just gets in line, first come first serve. So why have tee times?
It was a Saturday morning and there was a gnarly smell floating over from a landfill down the road. Luckily the smell was mostly gone by the time we played the first two holes.
The course was decent for the money. Greens were a little rough, but I've seen worse on more expensive courses. This course is not easy either. There's no hot food at this course, so don't go looking for a burger there.
Overall, it was decent, but I'll probably not return anytime soon.
Bad shape
The 1st time I played this course was back in January of this year and at that time the course was in good condition and in looked forward to my round this past weekend. However, soon after I arrived I was truly disappointed. The course was in terrible condition. The tee boxes had tall grass growing on them and the fairways did as well. The greens were the only areas that looked as if they had been maintained over the past several weeks. The cart paths where also in terrible shape as they have been ripped up with large pieces of asphalt or whatever material they were made of. The course also has an issue with drainage as therequired were large puddles of standing water on every hole. Sorry to say I will not return to this course.
Cart Avaibility
This was the first time I have ever showed up for a Tee time and was told they did not have any carts available. I had to wait for someone to finish before I could get a cart. There was a group of five ahead of me so my wait ended up being about 45 min. The fee is only $19, so I guess it should be expected. I was told that because this was the first good day to golf after the all the heavy rains it brought everyone out and they ran out of carts???
Grass was cut, sand was hard but the course over all played well enough for a person of my skills level. (101). I recommend calling first to check cart availability. These carts are new and hold a good charge.
Good Value
If you want to play solid $15-$20 round of golf (with cart), this is a good spot. We played 4 days after the flood so the course was rough around the edges. However, the greens were in very solid shape.
For those thinking it is on par with Battleground or Clear Creek, it is not. You get what you pay for and this is a solid value.
Not enough water
the course is very dry... and the green have been recently airated so they are real bumpy. But, the price is cheap enough.
This course has some nice holes
Overall this course has good value for your money. Not the best fairways or Greens but it does have some challenging Holes
Better than expected
Course was in pretty good shape, if you got off the fairway sometimes the grass was sparse. The greens were pretty good, better than I expected. Pace was good. Overall well worth he money.
Disapointed
Gave Houston Municipal course a chance after living in San Antonio for a year and playing all Alamo City Golf Trail numerous times. Not even close!
Good muni for the money
Nice course with a fun layout near the northeast corner of Beltway 8, kind of in the middle of nowhere. The pros are the fun layout, conditions of the greens, lots of matured old trees, and peaceful setting. Cons are that the facilities in general need better up keeping (ballwashers broken/missing, rough cart paths, etc. The pace of play tends to be a bit on the slow side, too. But, for the value its a good course to play if it's nearby.
oops!!!
every hole was full and there was no marshall to keep the pace moving
Nice course
Great design, greens are in excellent condition (a1), fairways are not as good as the greens but they are fine, tough course to play at but that's always fun to have a challenge
A lttle Confusing
Some of the holes were missing signage which meant I had to figure it out, but the marshalls were ever so present and answered any questions I had.
Very peaceful course.
I think I went at just the right time.
Be back very soon
