Horseshoe Bay Resort offers three Robert Trent Jones-designed championship courses as well as its latest addition in 2011, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Surrounded by the beautiful Texas Hill Country, the courses circle along the expansive Lake LBJ. The Ram Rock Course was opened in 1981. It is commonly known as the "Challenger" thanks to its narrow fairways and rolling greens that are bordered by more than 60 strategically placed bunkers. The layout sprawls across dramatic elevation changes accented with natural rock outcroppings and lush native landscaping. It is a tough but fair test that has been ranked as one of the top 15 courses in the state. One of the memorable holes is the demanding par-3 fourth. This dogleg right hole plays to a bunkered island green.
