Why plant so many trees in the fairways

Played the East and Central 9's, greens were great, as well as fairways, someone needs to take a chainsaw to just about every hole though, for some reason planners thought trees in the fairway are a good thing. Every hole has either trees hanging out over the fairway or directly in the fairway, just guessing they want you to move the ball with fades and draws on every hole, not needed in my opinion.
