Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2014.
Goose Creek was Baytown's first country club, organized in 1923 for employees of the Humble Oil Company. The course is known for its strange combination of holes, highlighted by five par 3s and five par 5s. The design rolls through a rice field with Goose Creek dominating the last five holes of the water-infested front nine.
Holes of note on the front are No. 2, which forces a carry of water of the tee, and the long, 457-yard No. 4.
The back nine is more open, and also features a good amount of water. No. 17 is the most difficult with water lining the entire left side of the fairway.
Getting there : From I-10 east, exit Garth Rd. and turn left. When you come to Baker, turn right and drive to Country Club Dr. Turn left and continue to the dead end. Turn right on Country Club View, then head to Muskogee Dr. and look for the parking lot.
