Centennial
Tee Boxes are absolutely trashed. Fairways are in decent shape. Greens are in below average shape. Layout is good. 3/5
Don’t waste your money
Tee boxes with no grass. No drainage and retains water if it has rained. Very tight and even good shots get punished by the grade. Only positive was the condition of the greens.
Patchy tee boxes and scuffed greens
Centennial used to be a local favorite. It is late fall/winter conditions, but it's a shame that 15/18 tee boxes are complete mud or patchy, makes it difficult to find a good spot to tee up. Also, the width of the tee boxes is extremely small, maybe 10ft wide, it looks funny and more importantly doesn't give much option to tee up left for a draw or right side for a cut if the hole calls for it. Greens have scuff (shoe?) marks but are rolling true.
That being said, the course layout is great and the food is amazing. Perhaps it's just a transitional period of the season, but would like to see the track up to par as the other Knoxville public courses are right now.
Could be better
Its fall and the course is wet and not in good condition, the tee boxes desperately need attention! And people are not repairing their pitch marks!!
Nice course
Nice course, pretty well maintained. A little pricey for a municipal/city course. Overall good course and layout with some challenging narrow holes.
Challenging course
Narrow fairways on the front 9. Opens up a bit on the back 9. Beautiful course overall and fun to play.
Love it…. But
So I love the layout of this place. Tight, tricky fairways with some daunting shots. Here comes the but…. People who play this course might be thee most inconsiderate people in the area. The greens were full of ball marks that people didn’t even attempt to fix.
Poor course conditions
Course is not well maintained. Tee boxes were in poor condition. Greens were beat up. Fairways were OK, but narrow.
Nice Sunday round
Pro shop staff was great. Made the turn in great time but had a back up on 10. 2 slow twosomes but we got spaced out after a few holes. Greens were soft from rain the night before. Some damage to greens from unrepaired divots but that’s not the course’s fault.
Great Course
Had to cut short due to storm. Played 12 holes and had a great time. Course was in good shape and staff do an excellent job.
Fun and Challenging
If you struggle with Slice like me you will lose balls but I had a blast. The greens were in excellent condition and some were very hard but this is a fun and beautiful course.
Challenging course
Great layout, fairways were cart paths only and at my age it was a chore walking them. Green were slow but good conditions. A must play course if you’re in the Knoxville area.
