Another 5-star day at The Crossings!
I absolutely love this course and the challenges it presents. Great conditions for this time of year as the greens rolled fast and true. Birdies are available and in abundance IF you don't get above the hole.
As I've said before, this course is well worth the drive over the mountains from NC. Keep up the great work and I'll see you soon!
Better
They cut the grass and it was much better this time. I enjoy the layout. Some greens need some repair. Overall, it was better
So much potential
It's a fun track to play. Links style. Tee boxes need work, Fairways grass is uneven. Greens were pretty good when they weren't diseased. A little TLC on course upkeep and this place would be a gem
Had a mixup with my GN reservation. But it got taken care of quickly. Course is in great shape at the moment, and the greens are VERY fast right now.
Good Course
The course layout is nice and pace of play was fine despite being paired with two other golfers. Only issue is the patches on the green which are pretty bad on some holes. Overall still a good course.
The Crossings
For this time of the year the course was in good shape. Pace of play was great. Would recommend this course.
Always enjoy the course, and GREAT STAFF!
This was my 4th time playing the Crossings, but I would play it every day if I didn't live almost 2 hours away in the mountains of NC. I went by myself hoping to get paired with someone else but played as a single.
It was a cold, sunny day with wind chill probably in the 20s, and the course was under a frost delay. I was scheduled to be behind a group of about 20 players. Once the delay ended, the starter sent me out first because there were only foursomes at the time. I wasn't able to get his name, but THANK YOU for letting me go first cause I would have been miserable playing behind them having to wait. This is a GREAT example of a starter doing his job PERFECTLY!
Some people have complained about the staff here, but I have always been treated like a member at this course. I guess some people are just naturally bitter and grumpy. And the members I met on the putting green were friendly too.
The layout of this course suits my game perfectly and it is a fair test depending on which tee you play from. I'm 69 years old but still hit the ball far enough to play the white tees. I think the senior tees would be too easy for me.
Since it was the first day of winter, the conditions aren't prime, hence my lower rating. (This is not a knock on the course) The fairways are kinda thin in spots but still provide good lies. The greens were a little bit slow but rolled true. There are a few that have some dead spots that detract from the appearance. I'm sure they'll be improving once spring returns. I can't speak for the bunkers cause I didn't land in any, but they looked like they were in good shape with plenty of sand.
All in all, Crossings is a course I highly recommend not just for the staff and layout, but the beautiful mountain views on most of the holes. I look forward to seeing you guys soon!
Course is nice
Good layout and course is in great shape for December. However, staff could had been more friendly. My frind brought a rider with him, and instead of just charging the rider a cart fee extra like we insisted we were told “next time you book on Golfnow don’t bring a rider with you” keep in mind it seemed like we were the only people on the course this day, other than that everything was good.
Playable layout
This fun, linksy course is welcome break from your typical tree-lined, parkland course. The course conditions are good, being consistent with the time of year and cost to play.
Pace of play on the day I played was irrelevant, because it was cold and there was only about 4 groups on the whole course.
I definitely recommend this course to anyone of any skill level. I am a scratch golfer, and played with two 100+ shooters, and we all had great fun.
It was a super day as my son and I played. The weather as well as the course was perfect.
Good round of golf
Staff was very friendly and honored the app price without hesitation. The new carts are great and a definite improvement. The pace of play was nice. Very relaxed without much pressure. I would say the tee boxes need work. Some of them are down to the dirt on the white tees. I'd also suggest a little weed eating is needed around the ball washers and trashcan. Other than that I was very satisfied with my round and look forward to another. I forgot to mention that the new pin flags are very nice and appreciated.
