Great course!
The greens and fairways are some of the best around! Staff is friendly. My only complaint would be there aren’t many ball washers, and the ones out there are mostly empty.
Golfing in the rain.
First time on the course and was told by a few people the course had issues with the greens and lacked on rough up-keep. This was not the case, the greens were in great shape and the rough was not rough at all. This course is made for the long driver and is a very fun course with forgiving fairways and few bunkers right in the way of the green. We will keep coming back and have added this course to our regular play list. Well done Tech.
Course is in excellent condition
We played in the spring and condition was not good. However the staff has done a remarkable job getting the course in great shape! Love playing here now.
Not Just Yet
Course was in ok shape. Greens have been aerated and were sanded hard. The fairways weren’t hardly in yet but course played good! Been nice if GolfNow had notified us of the aerification!
Rough shape
The fairways were in rough shape. There is a lot of room for improvement.
Formerly Cookeville Country Club
This course is not what it used to be since the university has taken over operations. The course was hit hard this past February by an ice storm; tree limbs are down all over the course and have not yet been cleaned up.
We played the course the day after a heavy rain, so it was saturated. Hole numbers 2, 4, 7, 17, and 18 had portions of their fairways under water. There's nothing that could be done about the rainwater, but it just made the conditions worse.
I've played this course many times since 1984, and it is in the worst shape it has ever been. I hope the warmer weather and a little TLC will bring this course back to its former condition.
For the record, the greens were in very good shape.
WET
Front nine very very wet. Probably should have been closed. Pace of play was awesome. I can see how this would be a good course if it weren’t wet. Greens were in excellent shape. Face the play was excellent.
Terrible shape
Still hand limbs down and strewn all over from the ice storm. Tee boxes full of broken teedls. Not like it was maintained in the past. Terribly disappointed
My home course
This has been my home course for the last 13 years since I moved into the area. Now I do not think I will be back. Staff has gone through some changes and ever since the local college took over it has gone down hill. This past weekend was the final dagger. When you call and reserve a tee time and have friends drive from hours away to play and get to the corse and they take your tee time away for college practice then tell you “there is nothing I’m going to do to help you” is very unprofessional. There are other courses in the area to play but this was my favorite and I played there at least once a week for years and years. I will not return and I will recommend finding another course to people new in the area. I hope Matt can get this course back to where it once was, it’s a shame to see how it is handled now.
Great Course
Great course but holds a lot of water in the bunkers.
Great little course
Course is always in good shape. Early in the year so grass still needs to come in but a good course for all playing levels.
Lighter putter
Teed ball up for fairway shots could not control putter on good greens
Great place to learn the game
I’ve only been golfing a few weeks and have played 4 courses. golden eagle is my favorite and I think is an excellent place to learn the game!
Fun Course with Challenging Par-4s
Greens were firm and fast, but putted true. Bermuda fairways were starting to go dormant; lies in the fairways were still good. Pace of play was a bit slow on the front, but once a foursome quit at the turn, play was fast. Finished 18 holes in just over 3 hours.
Great Course and Staff
Course perfect, weather perfect, and staff was great as usual. Great place to play every time.
