Country Club of Bristol was founded in 1894, making it one of the longest running clubs in the country. It's also considered the birthplace of organized golf in Tennessee and is still recognized as one of the best courses in the state. The current address is the fourth physical location of the club. The course that stands today was the created by A.G. McKay, a Tennessee native. The layout is challenging but fair with long, narrow fairways and fast, undulating greens. With several risk-reward holes throughout, it's a golf course that will make you think. The par-4 ninth, one of the tougher holes, is a dogleg left that plays uphill and over water. Besides the excellent game it offers, Country Club of Bristol is known for having some of the most well manicured fairways and greens in the area.
