Unexpected!

It's rare when a golf course surprises me. With the internet and satellite imagery, I generally have a pretty good idea what I'm in for before I ever set foot on a new golf course. That wasn't the case with Two Rivers Golf Club! I was expecting a typical, smaller town public course. What I found was truly a gem, especially given the $24 price to play.

The Good:
There's a lot of good. Let's start with the staff that greeted me. The two women working in the Clubhouse made me feel so welcome. They were happy to tell me about the course and help me prepare for my round.

The greens were pretty good as well. They weren't overly fast, but they were in great condition and rolled true.

I also really enjoyed the layout. Two Rivers is not long. At 6,074 yards and par 70, it's actually short. But don't let that fool you. With small greens and large trees, the course offers plenty of challenge.

The Average:
The fairway and tee conditions were just average. I think that the maintenance crew may have been a bit behind this week due to heavy rain earlier in the week. I would like to play it again when it's in peak shape.

The Not So Good:
My experience was great so it's hard to come up with something to call not so good. I chose to walk and even though Two Rivers is relatively short, it's not the easiest walk. There are several times when there is a lot of distance between holes. So if you choose to walk be prepared for that.

Overall Two Rivers is a wonderful golf course and a great value. Can't wait to play it again!
