A Stern Test

Dakota Dunes Country Club has long been on my list of places to play. As a South Dakota native I've always heard great things about this Arnold Palmer design that has hosted the Korn Ferry Tour in the past.

The course is a challenge from the first tee shot, and it doesn't really have any breather holes. Target golf is the name of the game here. You'll need to select the right clubs off the tee to find the optimal shot into the green. It's definitely a course I believe needs to be played multiple times to get comfortable.

The greens and the views of the Missouri River are my favorite parts of Dakota Dunes. The greens are fast and true. On the day we played, the pin positions were really challenging. It's critical to be on the proper side of the hole to get an easy 2 putt.

The Missouri River comes into view in 8, 17 and 18. I'm a sucker for golf holes next to water. Those are 3 great holes!

I definitely recommend playing Dakota Dunes if you get the chance. Bring your A game though!
