Fair and simple
If you're military be sure to claim the discount. The course is pretty straightforward and the staff is great. We really enjoyed our first time playing here. The greens are fast and true, although a few of them have not quite recovered from a wet winter as there are still some rough spots here and there.
Try another course
We hated the terrain. The greens are not in condition at all even though the attendant told us otherwise. The tee boxes are not maintained. Not worth more than $20, beginner.
Reception staff not welcoming. Why aren't we seated when we arrive on the cart... We waited more than 30 minutes for the employee to seat us, and this was 2-3 minutes before our departure time.
Great for the money
If you were an out of tower there was no extra charge like other courses
Score card should have a map
For the visiting golfer the score card should have a map.
Several penalties encountered due to surprises of water.
Nice course.
Where were the Marshalls, people fooling around and taking way too long, playing 2 balls at a time, very frustrating.
The round was bought on Golf Now This was considered a Twilight Round but was sold as a 18 hole not 9. The course and Golf Now should be aware of this and charge accordingly, it was a rip off.
Be Brave
Nice layout but llots of water to avoid. Greens bumpy in February.
Back nine has 3very tough holes which i never figured out. The short one is the hardest and a bit unfair with everything being sucked into the water. All 4 players hit the green and rolled into the water within 3 feet of each other.
42 to 44 on front but 45 to 50 on back in 5 rounds in Feb
Warm up course
Fairways were patchy and firm, greens were bumpy and very slow, great for a practice round.
Good Course Overall
Nice course layout, greens and fairways in average condition for February. Good value.
Very playable
For high handicap player it is fun and challenging with a chance of scoring well.
Great value for the (🇨🇦) dollar!
I will start off by saying, I’m not a very good golfer, but my love for the game grows with each passing day.
My son decided to join me last minute and Whispering Pines was more than happy to oblige! I’ve been trying to convince him to come out with me for some time, and all of a sudden he surprised me.
The course was challenging for us, but definitely something we could handle.
The gentleman that we were partnered up with (Dennis ?) was also a Canadian and he was great to play with. He did not offer any unsolicited advice and he shared a laugh with us as we got our money’s worth ‘all over the course’. As he had mentioned, this is a gentleman’s game, and a gentleman he was.
The greens were a little bumpy, even for a hacker like me, but as Dennis said, ‘I’ve paid more for courses that weren’t as good.’ I can say I’ve done the same.
Overall, if you are happy to be golfing at this time of the year for a more than reasonable price, Whispering Pines is the place to go!
I’m hoping to get out here one more time before heading back home.
A great layout but the greens leave a lot to be desired
If you like to play a course for the layout this ones for you. The greens are not nearly as good as the layout and the routing. I completely enjoyed my round inspite of the poor greens. The base is there but at this time they are inundated with poa. For shot value and genuine shot making challenges its it's great.
