Arcadian Shores is known as one of the better public courses in the Myrtle Beach area. It's a Rees Jones design that winds through stands of live oaks and the terrain is dotted with lakes.
In fact, those lakes, as well as bunkers and trees, will come into play often - the course has up to 71 bunkers in play, depending on which of the three sets of tees you play from.
It's a traditionally-designed course with Tifton Bermuda greens and Bermuda fairways. The fairways are contoured. The course measure 6,857 yards from the championship tees with a slope rating of 132 so it's certainly no pushover. Both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine have recognized Arcadian Shores, and golfers for the most part have rated it a good golf course, but not spectacular.
The club has a learning center, the Arcadian Classic Golf School, as well as a custom club-maker. It's part of the Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort and golfers have noted the service.
