Golf course architect Clyde Johnston brought a Scottish flare to the design at Wachesaw Plantation East. The championship 18-hole golf course in Murrells Inlet is built on the site of a former rice plantation.
Host to four LPGA Tour events, the course features traditional mounding and rolling fairways leading into fast greens. Golfers will enjoy views of the surrounding freshwater lakes and wetlands, but don't get too absorbed in the scenery or risk getting snagged by one of Wachesaw Plantation East's many strategic bunkers.
The golf course has received a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also ranked it among the top 50 courses in the U.S. for customer service.
