TPC Myrtle Beach, designed by Tom Fazio with assistance from Lanny Wadkins, opened in 1999 as the Grand Strand's 100th golf course. Golf Digest voted it among the "Top 10 Best New Upscale Courses in America" and it hosted the 2000 Charles Schwab Cup Championship on the PGA Champions Tour.
Set south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, the golf course features an abundance of bird life and natural wetlands, which come into play on 11 holes and pine trees frame many of the holes. Tom Watson proclaimed TPC Myrtle Beach an "interesting challenge and a quiet walk in nature."
