About

Holes 18
Type Public
Par 72
Length 6767 yards
Slope 113
Rating 72.4

Sedgewood Country Club in Hopkins offers a championship golf course that measures 6,767 yards from the back tees. It has a few challenges in store but overall it is a player-friendly course that beginners can approach with confidence. The layout has a wide open front nine before it moves onto hillier, more wooded terrain. The first nine holes are more forgiving than the back nine, allowing some room for error off the tees. The back nine is a scenic round of holes, sprawling across gently rolling hills studded with mature trees. There are also some challenging par 3s that require a carry over water. Sedgewood Country Club is a diverse golf course that is approachable for all skill levels and made even more accommodating thanks to three different sets of tees.

Great Layout

This course has always been a great layout but for years now it has not been maintained very well at all. If you can't get on somewhere else then give it a try. The greens were not bad.

Decent course, but....

Sedgewood is a pretty fun course to play, overall. However, it seems they haven't put any money into the course in YEARS. There is hardly a difference between the fairway and rough. Since the last time I played there (Six months prior to this post), they have put considerable work into the greens. They are actually putt-able now which is a good thing. The tee boxes aren't kept up very well and, when there is a cart path, you need an ATV to travel on them instead of a golf cart. All-in-all, it might be the best value in Columbia due to the low price and the length and difficulty of the course. I play there a couple times a month just to save a few bucks.

Horrible

my sister and I came from out of town to play and couldn't believe what condition the course was in. On our way to hole 1 we thought we were driving the golf cart through a land fill. On the fairway for hole 4 we passed a massive dead snake near the green. Speaking of green, the green was the only grass that was green. The grass everywhere else was dead. I thought we were playing in the desert of Arizona. Not to mention there were huge tree branches everywhere on the ground. The course was a joke and I can't believe we paid $15 each to golf 9 holes there. My sister's friend, a local, laughed when he heard we went there and referred to the place as Sedgeweed (for obvious reasons)
