The Ocean Course was the first golf course built on Hilton Head Island and it is truly a coastal golfing experience. The course is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. It is one of three 18-hole courses at the Sea Pines Resort. George Cobb designed the course in 1960 but it was rebuilt in 1995 with renovations designed by Mark McCumber.
Sea Pines Resort's Ocean course is suitable for every level of golf. It features challenging elements like strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The 15th hole is quite memorable with a beautiful backdrop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of only two holes on Hilton Head that have such a view.
