When the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall Plantation opened in 1991, Golf Magazine rated it as one of America's top 10 new golf courses. It is also the original course of two courses offered at the Palmetto Hall Plantation. Named after its designer, the course stretches over roughly 6,900 yards of tall pines and moss-covered oaks. Hills utilized the trees on the course by incorporating them in a way that would require strategy and shot accuracy. The course also features tight fairways and water hazards to create a more interesting game for golfers. The signature hole is the last hole, the par-4 18th is long and it requires an approach shot that has to go over water only to be met with a sloping green.
